Life Emergency
As a variant to the above scriptures, here are some scriptures you can say and pray in a life-threatening emergency:
• For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2
• Live; yea, I said unto thee…Live. Ezekiel 16:6
• And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning. Job 11:17
• The Lord healeth the broken…and bindeth up their wounds. Psalms 147:3
The Keys To Making These Scriptures Work For You
If you want saying and praying these scriptures to work for you, there are three requirements.
The first requirement was described at the start of this article: you have to be right with God through Jesus Christ…you have to be a righteous worshipper of God through Jesus Christ.
The second requirement is that you must do “your part” of living in a wise way.
• Wisdom giveth life to them that have it. Ecclesiastes 7:12
So, if you are abusing your body by putting harmful substances into it such as tobacco, alcohol, or drugs…or, if you are harming your body by eating unhealthy foods…or by over-eating…then you should not expect God to do anything for you because you have not done your part that wisdom and Biblical instruction calls for.
God is not going to do for you what you should do for yourself.
God is not going to do for you what He has given you the Biblical commandment and personal ability and responsibility to do for yourself.
Using over-eating as an example:
• But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection. 1 Corinthians 9:27
This verse lets you know that God expects you to do your part of being sensible and taking care of yourself…physically and otherwise.
• And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. Proverbs 23:2
This verse further lets you know that you have a part to perform in taking care of yourself physically.
• Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly. Philippians 3:19
And, this verse lets you know that if you are unwilling to do your part, then you cannot expect God to do His part…that you can in fact expect the destruction of your body.
In contrast…
•Temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:23
This verse let’s you know that if you are doing your part, then there is no judgment against you and that you can fully expect God to do His part.
The third requirement is summed up in these verses:
• He that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
• According to your faith be it unto you. Matthew 9:29
• As thou has believed, so be it done unto thee. Matthew 8:13
• Thy faith hath made thee whole. Matthew 9:22, Mark 10:52
• Great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. Matthew 15:28
As these scriptures make plain, you have an obligation to actually believe in God…you have the responsibility of having confidence in God…you have the requirement of trusting in God.
But, if you are a saved, believing Christian…if you are doing your part that wisdom, prudence, and Biblical instruction calls for…and if you have faith in God…then here is what Jesus said:
• All things are possible to him that believeth. Mark 9:23
There Is Only One Possible Exception
Altogether, everything said above adds up to the irrefutable fact that you can have health and healing by saying and praying the above scriptures…with only a single possibility for exception:
• They shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts…and I will spare them. Malachi 3:17
There is the occasional case where God “spares” a person from future heartbreak by going ahead and taking the person out of this world…in spite of them saying and praying the above scriptures.
That is, God sees what the future holds relative to this person…and He sees that the person really would be better off in Heaven with Him…that in Heaven, the person will avoid hurtful heartbreak that he or she would otherwise experience in this world…and so, He “overrides” the person’s prayer for healing and takes them out of this world.
When such cases happen, this is not a failure of God’s word or a failure on the person’s part. Rather, it is God extending extraordinary mercy and goodness to the person…it is God caring about a person so much that He is unwilling to let that person suffer through the hurt of heartbreak that continued life on this earth would bring to that person. And so, God takes the person to Heaven to be with Him instead.
