“You call me Master…and obey me not.
You call me Light…and see me not.
You call me The Way…and walk with me not.
You call me Life…and desire me not.
You call me Fair…and love me not.
You call me Rich…and ask me not.
You call me Eternal…and seek me not.
You call me Gracious…and trust me not.
You call me Noble…and serve me not.
You call me Mighty…and honor me not.
You call me Just…and fear me not.
When I condemn you on Judgment Day…then blame me not.”

If the Lord Jesus Christ was to speak verbally to you and I today, would he say something like this to us?

Are the above words similar to the words that echo in that secret place of real truth inside of us?

We know that there is a place of no pretense inside of us…a place where a lie is a lie…and the truth is the truth…a place where how we are really living is fully known…both by us and by God.

Is this place a comfortable place for us to visit? Is this a place we are unashamed and unafraid to walk into with the Lord? Is this a place where we regularly meet with the Lord in prayer and relationship?

Or, is this a place we hide and avoid because we know we are not quite right before the Lord?

Do we avoid this place as much as possible…do we avoid going to church…do we avoid certain people that we know are right with God…because it reminds us of this place and our not-quite-right relationship with God?

And, even if we avoid this place, do we still feel that haunting sense of uneasiness that corresponds with knowing we need to make things right between us and God?

Right now is the time to pray…right now is the time to fix things between us and the Lord.

There is no promise of tomorrow. There is no promise of even another minute. There is only the opportunity of right now. The obituary list of each and every day is filled with people who thought they had plenty of time left…people who planned on getting right with God later…and they never got another chance.

Let’s do what we need to do right now…let’s take care of our business with God right now.

And come Sunday morning at 10 am, Allentown Holiness Church would be a great place for us to be.
