How would you feel if a certain person wanted:
• Help from you…
• Support from you…
• Gifts from you…
• Work from you…
But, they did not really want anything to do with you?
How would you feel if a certain person wanted what you could do for them…but they had no interest in fellowshipping, interacting, or relating with you?
How would you feel if a certain person wanted what you could give them…but they wanted as little to do with you as possible…and they had zero interest in giving anything back to you?
As you think about how you would feel in this scenario…realize that this is precisely how some people are towards God.
They want God blessing, helping, supporting, gifting, protecting, and working on their behalf.
They want what God can do for them and what He can give them.
But, they do not want a real, committed, submitted relationship with Him.
Well, such people cannot be surprised on Judgment Day when they hear, “Depart from me, I never knew you.” (Matthew 7:23)
Now, let’s personalize this…
What about me?
Am I guilty of wanting God to give to me…and to do for me…but yet I am busy with too many other things…and have no time for Him…or interest in Him?
Do I need to improve my relationship with God through Jesus Christ?
Do I need to ramp up the love I feel for God the Father and my Lord Jesus Christ?
