There is an ancient saying that says, “Sin casts a long shadow“.
Take a moment to think about what this means.
The word “long” lets us know that the effects and consequences of sin will be felt for a long time.
The word “shadow” lets us know that sin darkens and clouds our life.
The word “casts” lets us know that continued sin causes the shadow to grow even bigger and darker.
But, through Jesus Christ, we can receive the light that eliminates all the shadows in our life.
In [Jesus] was life; and the life was the light of men. — John 1:4
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. — John 8:12
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. — John 12:46
Christ shall give thee light. — Ephesians 5:14
Ye should shew forth praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. — 1 Peter 2:9
