EVERY one of the 66 books in the Bible in one way or another points the way to Salvation. But, the book of Romans does a particularly good job of walking a person down the path of God’s Salvation Plan and explaining everything in a direct and plain way. Many have called this the “Roman’s Road To Salvation”.
In particular, various verses spread across the book of Romans explain why we need to be saved, how God made a way for us to be saved, how we can be saved personally, what happens when we get saved, what we need to do in order to stay saved, how we need to live our life as a saved person, and what the consequences are if we do not accept God’s Salvation Plan.
The tenets of God’s Salvation plan start in the very first chapter of Romans…
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.” — Romans 1:16
Too many people are more concerned about what other people think about them than what God thinks of them.
Too many people are blocking the power and blessings of God out of their life because they are more concerned about fitting in with and being accepted by the people around them … than they are of rising up to the higher (and happier) level that God wants them to be on.
So, the preceding verse lets us know that if we want the power of God to change our life for the better … if we want to be saved … if we want peace and joy within ourselves … if we want God’s blessings in this life … and eternal life in Heaven after this life, then we must BELIEVE that God wants us to be saved through the sacrifice of His only begotten son Jesus Christ.
Moreover, this verse lets us know that the FIRST step to Salvation is to get past being ashamed of and embarrassed about being a spiritually-minded person … and to step into being a person who honors and follows the plan of God no matter what other people think.
Bluntly, a person must get past being embarrassed about being affiliated with Christ … a person must get past being ashamed of Christ and His gospel if they want to be saved and receive all the blessings that come with being in right relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Next on the Romans Road to Salvation, we come to this…
“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” — Romans 1:17
This verse lets us know that faith is a key element of salvation. Elsewhere, the Bible tells us that God is a spirit which means we do not see Him physically, but we can definitely experience Him and His presence in our life.
As an analogy, faith is like wind. We normally cannot see wind but we can definitely feel it, experience it, and see its physical effects.
And in fact, if we drop down a few verses, the Bible makes this exact point…
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” — Romans 1:20
This verse is telling us that our invisible God produces physical effects that can be so clearly seen and understood that there is no excuse for us not believing in Him.
Next on the Roman Road to Salvation, we come to this verse…
“There is none righteous, no, not one.” — Romans 3:10
This verse states what we all know is true deep down inside of ourselves: we have all sinned. Not a single one of us is completely innocent and pure.
Now, we may not be a drunken vagabond, drug-dealer, serial-killer, or whatever it is that we classify as a vile person … but we ALL HAVE done things that we knew were wrong … and we ALL HAVE thought thoughts that we knew were wrong thoughts.
And so, we are NOT inherently, natively sin-free. We are in fact inherently sinful … we ALL HAVE sinned … that is why we need salvation … that is why we need redemption … and that is what the sacrifice of Jesus Christ was all about: redeeming us out of our sins and reconciling us to God the Father by His sinless life and supreme sacrifice.
This is precisely what subsequent verses tell us:
“The righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” — Romans 3:22-26
From these verses, we find that:
- Everyone has sinned. Everyone has fallen short of being their best self before God.
- God’s grace to us … God’s unmerited favor to us … is that redemption from our sins has been provided for us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- By believing in and accepting the sacrifice of and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our sins are remitted … they are forgiven … and the eternal punishment of our sins is cancelled.
- By believing in Jesus Christ, we activate His gift of propitiation. That is, by believing in Jesus Christ, we activate His gift of salvation that appeases God’s wrath towards us for our sins.
- Elsewhere, the Bible explains to us that Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, submitted Himself to leaving His Heavenly glory with God the Father … and allowed Himself to be conceived in a virgin by the Holy Ghost … so that He could live life in human form. Moreover, the Bible explains to us that Jesus Christ is the only man who has ever lived a sin-free life … and it was His sin-free life that qualified Him to be our supreme sacrifice. The preceding scriptures reference this phenomenon and declare Jesus Christ is the one and only “just one” before God … and by believing on Jesus Christ and accepting His supreme sacrifice for us, we too are made just before God the Father.
As we continue on the Romans Road to Salvation, we come to a verse that expands our understanding of faith…
“But to him that … believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” — Romans 4:5
When we believe on Jesus as our Savior and Redeemer … the only one who can justify us … that is an act of faith … and that act of faith is credited to us as righteousness.
Next, the Romans Road to Salvation expands upon the two-part work of Jesus Christ as it pertains to us…
“Who was delivered for our offense, and was raised again for our justification.” Romans 4:25
It was for our sins and offenses that Jesus Christ went to the cross to die … and in dying, Jesus Christ provided the means by which the death penalty price for our sins and offenses could be paid.
And, it was His resurrection from the dead that provided a way for us to be justified. In other words, Jesus Christ’s resurrection provided the means for our inexcusable sins to be excused and for us to be made “just” before God the Father.
And, all we have to do to activate Salvation in our life … all we have to do to have the price of our sins paid for … and to be made just before God the Father … is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and his work of grace, mercy, forgiveness, and Salvation.
This is precisely what the next verse on the Roman’s Road to Salvation tells us:
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.” — Romans 5:1-2
Again, it is faith (believing in) in Jesus Christ that gives us access to Salvation … that activates Salvation in our life.
And, when we activate Salvation in our life, we have peace with God … because we know that we are in right relationship with God … we know that it is well with our soul … we know that Heaven is our eternal destination.
There truly is no feeling in the human experience that can equate to the peaceful, contented feeling of knowing that you are right with God.
Moreover, we are to stand (stay) in this position of having faith in (believing in) Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer.
Likewise, we are to remember that Christ’s work on our behalf was a work of mercy and grace … a work of unmerited favor and forgiveness … and as we remember this vividly, we cannot help but rejoice.
And, as we stand in faith rejoicing, the Glory of God will infallibly fill our life.
Next, for the sake of emphasis and clarity, the Romans Road to Salvation repeats the core message and then builds upon it:
“Christ died for the ungodly … but God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also join in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” — Romans 5:6,8-11
Plainly, we have all sinned … we were all ungodly … and yet Christ STILL died for us … He provided a means by which our sins, iniquities, and transgressions could be atoned for … and the reason He did this for us is because of the love that God the Father had for us. And, by faith in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, we activate this atonement … we are forgiven and justified.
Stated differently, as sinners, we are the enemy of God … we are alienated from God. But, as believers in Jesus Christ’s sacrifice we are brought back into fellowship with God … we are reconciled unto God as our Heavenly Father.
But beyond this, there WILL come a time when God pours out his wrath upon ungodly and sinful people who have rejected the supreme sacrifice of Jesus Christ … who have had no interest in getting in right relationship with God through His only begotten son Jesus Christ.
And, when this time of God’s wrath comes, those of us who have believed on the name and sacrifice of Jesus Christ will be spared … we will be “saved”.
But in the meantime … until that day of wrath, justice, and judgment comes … we are to join ourselves unto God and His ways of being, doing, and living by following and honoring the example that Christ provided for us as documented in the Bible.
And in fact, that is what the Romans Road to Salvation takes us into next…
“For in that Christ died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. … Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.” — Romans 6:10,12-13
These verses are telling us that just as Christ died for our sins, we are to die out to sin … we are to kill out sin in our life.
Day by day, we are NOT to give in to sin … we are NOT to give ourselves to sin … we are NOT to give place to the lusts of carnality and selfishness.
Instead, we are to yield, surrender, and submit ourselves to God … we are to live our life unto God.
So, a key point we can now clarify is that GETTING SAVED requires nothing more than repenting of all our past sins and believing on Jesus Christ as our Savior, Redeemer, and Reconciler unto God the Father.
But, STAYING SAVED requires that we live our life in a way that is right before God.
But of course, the more we consider the tremendous gift that Jesus Christ bought for us in giving Himself as the supreme sacrifice for our sins … and for our peace … the more we will WANT to live right before God.
The core of what we are talking about here is precisely what the Romans Road to Salvation continues on to emphasize:
“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness.” — Romans 6:16
We ARE either going to be the servant of sin … or the servant of righteousness. We ARE going to yield, surrender, and submit to one or the other.
There is no such thing as being neither sinful nor righteous. You WILL infallibly yield to sin or to righteousness.
IF we yield to sin … if we give place to sin … if we open ourselves up to sin, then we are CHOOSING spiritual death which ultimately means eternal banishment from God’s Heaven, and eternity in a burning, fiery pit prepared for an evil devil, his vile demons, and his sinful followers.
Next, the Romans Road to Salvation emphasizes the consequences of our choice between righteousness and sinfulness:
“But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:22-23
These verses start with a fruit analogy. The kind of life we live produces a corresponding kind of fruit. A life of sin produces the fruit of regret, consequences, and ultimately destruction.
In contrast, living a life that honors and reverences God produces the fruit of joy, peace, and ultimately, eternity with God in Heaven … a place filled with so much goodness and enjoyment that the Bible tells us we cannot even imagine it or comprehend it with our human mind.
Next, these verses go to a wages analogy. There is a wage that corresponds to the kind of life we live. A life lived in a sinful, Christ-rejecting, God-rejecting manner will earn one the wages of eternal separation from God in Heaven and eternity in hell.
The problem is, we have all sinned … we have all earned the wages of sin. Thankfully, as we now understand from preceding scriptures, God has extended us a gift above all gifts … the gift of Salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ .. the gift of having our sins wiped away so that we can live a life of joy and peace in this world and inherit a place in Heaven when we pass from this world.
The Romans Road to Salvation then gives us a beautiful, beautiful promise…
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” — Romans 8:1
After we believe on Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer … and as we walk in righteousness instead of sinfulness … we are freed from guilt, shame, and condemnation.
When we are right with God through Jesus Christ, we can go to sleep at night without fear or regret … we can live free from the terror of dying in an unjust state before God … we can live in peace and joy instead of in guilt, shame, and fear like unbelieving, sinful people do.
When we are right with God through Jesus Christ, we have true peace, joy, and contentment that cannot be obtained in any other manner.
Conversely, when we are NOT right with God through Jesus Christ, then no matter what we do … no matter where we go … no matter what we partake of … no matter what diversions we seek … no matter what distractions we use … real, lasting peace is simply an impossibility.
Next, the Romans Road to Salvation further explains to us how we need to live and warns us of the consequences of wrong-living:
“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. … They that are in the flesh cannot please God. … For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit to mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” — Romans 8:5-6, 8:8, 8:13-14
The carnal side of our human nature is such that as we move through the normal course of living, in one way or another, we end up in thoughts and/or actions that are outright sinful … or that are steps leading to something sinful … and before long, we are under a miserable burden of sin, guilt, shame, and non-peace.
Bluntly, it simply is not possible to live according to our carnal nature and to live in a way that is acceptable to God. Our carnal nature is such that we soon become the enemy of goodness and therefore the enemy of God.
But, after we have received God’s Salvation through Jesus Christ as we have been describing throughout this article … after we have been delivered and freed from our burden of sin, we have to make a change in how we live … we have to begin living according to a different side of our human nature.
Instead of living after the dictates of our sin-inclined carnal nature, we must shift into living in our Spiritual nature that is connected with God and that wants to please God.
If we do not make this shift into living in our Spiritual nature, then we end up throwing away God’s Salvation … we end up trampling on Christ’s supreme sacrifice … and that will ALWAYS take us right back into living according to our sinfully-inclined carnal nature … which takes us right back to bearing a miserable load of sin, guilt, shame, and non-peace … and worst of all, we end up separating our own selves from God and His peace, joy, protection, and blessings … along with dooming ourselves to eternal separation from God and hell-fire.
Now, how do we shift out of living according in our carnal nature and into our Spiritual nature?
We do it by deliberately deciding, determining, and committing to living a life that pleases, honors, and reverences God … and as we draw close to God … as we regularly read the Bible … as we regularly pray … as we seek to know and obey God’s will in our life … that leads to our spiritual nature growing stronger and stronger … and, the stronger our Spiritual nature becomes, the more ashamed we become of our old carnal self … and the more we hate what we used to be and the things we used to do when we lived according to our carnal nature.
What is really cool is that as we follow after the principles, precepts, will, and commandments of God as defined in the Bible, that opens us up to the Spirit of God working and flowing through us … and the Spirit of God takes us into being the children of God … the Spirit of God leads us back into relationship with God our Father.
Next, the Romans Road to Salvation warns us about a particular problem a saved Christian will have to deal with from time to time:
“Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” — Romans 8:33-34
As a person begins striving to live a life in Christ … as a person begins striving to live according to their Spiritual nature … as a person begins striving to please God in their life … people who are still living according to their carnal nature will despise that … they will hate that … as a result of their own conscience pricking them.
When they see you striving to do right and good … that points out that they are NOT doing right and good … and they feel the unpleasant feeling of conviction … they are reminded that they are not right with God.
In response to these unpleasant feelings, unsaved people will lash out … they will seek to find fault and failure in Christians so they can feel better about their own sins … and at every available chance, they will criticize or condemn a Christian.
When this happens, our job is to identify how we can live even more Godly … to identify how we can be even more Christlike … and to remember that our Salvation and justification comes from God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In other words, we ARE saved and justified through our Lord Jesus Christ … and we do not let the criticisms and negative-judgments of unsaved people bother us.
That brings us to this: just because we have accepted God’s gift of Salvation does not mean we are perfect or that we will never make mistakes. We should certainly do our best to live perfect before God … we should certainly do our best to perfectly keep God’s instructions and commandments as defined in the Bible. But, if we should fall short at some point in time, we are to repent immediately and return right back into doing our best to live a life that is pleasing before God.
But to the point here, if we do fall short and make some mistake, don’t be surprised when those who are still rejecting God’s Salvation jump up and ambitiously criticize and condemn you for your failure. And, if this happens to you, just determine and commit all the more that you are going to live your life in a way that pleases God and that is blameless and faultless before the people around you.
The Romans Road to Salvation then gives us a summarization of how to be saved:
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. … the Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” — Romans 10:9-13
What is particularly beautiful about this scripture is that it makes it clear that ANYONE can be saved … that YOU can be saved. God does not withhold Himself and His gifts and blessings from anyone. He makes Himself and his gifts and blessings available to ANYONE who will accept and receive.
For sure, there are people who will reject us no matter what we do … but God will NEVER reject us if we talk to Him in sincerity and honesty.
Then, the Romans Road to Salvation gives us more explicit instruction on how to live our life before God:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love … not slothful … be fervent … serving the Lord … continuing instant in prayer. Distributing to the necessity of the saints; given to hospitality … recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men … Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet … Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. … let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh to fulfill the lusts thereof.” — Romans 12:2, 12:9-21, 13:9, 13:12:14
These scriptures inform us of the following:
- If we try to fit in with unsaved people … if we seek to be like unsaved people … then we will soon enough be right back to being unsaved enemies of God who bear the burden of sin, guilt, shame, and non-peace.
- We are to change how we use our mind … we are to change what is important to us … we are to change what we are seeking … which will change where we go and what we do. Now, it may seem like this is something we cannot do … but we really can. We can by living according to our Spiritual nature … and as we live in our Spiritual nature, God’s Spirit helps us, strengthens us, and guides us.
- We are to love people in a way that is genuine and without pretense or ulterior motive.
- We are to hate evil and move away from it.
- We are to draw close to that which is good and to hold on to it.
- We are to be kind and affectionate.
- We are not to be lazy, idle, or inactive.
- We are to do everything as if we were doing it for our Lord Jesus Christ.
- We are to pray … we are to talk to our Father God and our Lord Jesus Christ (who are sitting side by side in Heaven) on a regular basis.
- We are to be a hospitable person.
- We are to help fellow-believers who are suffering hardship as a result of circumstances that are outside of their control.
- We are not to repay people for their wrong-doing towards us. Instead, we are to leave that to God who will avenge us in His own time and way.
- We are to be honest in all our dealings … we are to live our life such that our honesty is apparent.
- For as long as God allows humankind free-will choice, there will be sinful people who do evil things. But, God’s Spirit in us is greater than any and all sin … and so, we are to let God’s Spirit work and flow through us in such a way that we overcome bad things in life with greater good.
- If we are a single person, we are not to engage in unmarried sex. If we are married, we are not to have sex with anyone except our spouse.
- We are not to kill … but to instead show and tell people about the way of life in Christ Jesus.
- We are not to steal … but to instead work and provide value in exchange for what we want.
- We are not to lie … but to instead speak truth.
- We are to love other people every bit as much as we love our own self.
- We are to have no part in the sinful things that unsaved people do in their “parties”.
- We are to give no place … we are to make no concession … to the sinful lusts and desires that stem from our carnal nature.
Next, the Romans Road to Salvation further explains WHY it is important that we live our life in a way that pleases God:
“We shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then everyone of us shall give account of himself to God.” Romans 14:10-12
There IS going to be a Judgment Day when every person is going to stand before God and Jesus Christ and they ARE going to give account for how they have lived their life.
Those who have accepted and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ … and who have lived their life in a way that was pleasing before God will enter into Heaven. Those who have rejected Jesus Christ and who have had no regard for living right with God will be cast into hell with the devil and his demons.
Next, the Romans Road to Salvation confirms that we are to live our life on a higher, more-expansive, more-encompassing, spiritual level:
“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of all men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.” — Romans 14:17-19
Being a Christian is more than just being a good person who lives a natural life of surviving and procreating …which is nothing more than what animals do.
Being a Christian is about being a reflection of Jesus Christ to people all around us. Being a Christian is about being full of good works that impact people in a good way. Being a Christian is about inspiring, encouraging, and lifting people up to a higher level of goodness in Jesus Christ. Being a Christian is about being a participant and a contributor in the building up and expanding of God’s Kingdom.
And finally, the Romans Road to Salvation concludes with this:
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” — Romans 15:13
As we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ … as we live our life in a way that pleases God … we will find that God’s Spirit fills us with true joy and peace … we will find that God’s Spirit infuses us with clear confidence (aka hope) in our relationship with God … and that “FEELING” is the EXACT feeling that all of mankind wants and craves above all else.
Foolishly, most people are trying to find and get that “feeling” by going down all kinds of alternate paths. But, the fact remains that there is only ONE path to the “feeling” of true peace, joy, happiness, and contentment that people are wanting…and that is the path of believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and living one’s life in a way that pleases, honors, and reverences God.
Certainly, people by the billions have tried to find the feeling of true peace in all kinds of alternate ways … and ALL have failed to find it.
Now, let’s bring this down to a personal level … which of the following are you tired of?
- Are you tired of feeling nagging guilt?
- Are you tired of feeling shame within yourself?
- Are you tired of feeling dirty on the inside?
- Are you tired of feeling the pressure and the heavy load weighing down on you that stems from your sins?
- Are you tired of consistently going in the wrong direction in life?
- Are you tired of being afraid of what would happen to you if you were to die suddenly?
- Are you tired of feeling strong dissatisfaction and distaste within yourself?
- Are you tired of ending up in degrading or destructive situations and circumstances?
Next, let’s ask this … which of the following are you ready for?
- Are you ready to feel true peace?
- Are you ready to make things right between you and God?
- Are you ready to live a life that is blessed, protected, and directed by God?
- Are you ready for your life to have purpose and meaning?
- Are you ready to know that when it comes your time to pass from this world, that you will spend eternity in Heaven?
If you are saying yes to any of these questions, then I invite you to say the following prayer with me right now:
”Lord Jesus, the miserable lack of peace I have been feeling within myself … the burden of sin I have been carrying within myself … lets me know that You are real and that You care about me … that You want a better life for me … and that it has been the Spirit of the Living God who has been pricking my conscience and convicting me all along for not living my life properly in You.
And so right now, I ask you Lord Jesus to forgive me of all my sins … I ask you to forgive me of ___list specific sins that come to mind___ … I ask you to forgive me of all the other sins I have committed that I am not remembering right now … and in faith I believe on You Lord Jesus … in faith, I believe that You died on the cross to pay the price for my sins … in faith, I believe that You were resurrected from the dead so that I can NOW be reconciled unto God the Father.
Right now, Lord Jesus, I gratefully accept and receive the Salvation that God the Father provided for me through You. Lord Jesus, thank You for being willing to give Your own life as the one and only sacrifice that was acceptable to God for MY sins.
Lord Jesus, I ask that you cleanse my heart and purify my mind. I ask that You fill me with your peace, love, and joy. I ask Lord that you put in me a mind that hates evil and loves righteousness.
I ask you Lord to give me the strength, the courage, and the determination to do MY part of living right before God … and in faith, I ask that day by day, the Spirit of the Living God be with me and help me to be and do that which I cannot be or do of my own self.
Lord I sincerely DO want to know You, Your truth, and Your ways … Lord, I want to be filled with Your truth … I want to live in Your truth … and so, in Your name Lord Jesus, as I go forward in life, I ask that the Spirit of the Living God lead and guide me in Your truth and in Your ways.
And, by saying Amen, I am confirming that I am sincere in what I am saying … I am committing to living the rest of my life according to what you teach me and reveal to me in the Bible and by the Holy Ghost … Amen!”
I PROMISE you, IF you say this prayer honestly and sincerely, you WILL FEEL an immediate change within yourself. You WILL feel like a “load” has been lifted off of you.
Of course, this is just the beginning. You now have to grow and develop in the Lord. You now have to get yourself educated in the things of God. You now have to learn to stay faithful to the Lord no matter what. Plainly, you have a big journey before you … but it will be a wonderful, amazing journey … as God blesses you … challenges you … develops you … proves you … and works through you.
I hope you have prayed the above prayer … and if you have, then WELCOME to the Kingdom of God.
Lastly, if you live within driving distance of Semmes, AL, then come be in church with us … let’s learn about and worship the Lord together.
